Statistical data on the number of bankruptcies filed in the United States can be found at

The American Bankruptcy Institute contains bankruptcy statistics.

The Bankruptcy Yearbook & Almanac (2014-) available through ABI/Inform includes data on non-business and business bankruptcies.

Bloomberg contains bankruptcy data and news. Type BNKF and press GO for company bankruptcy filings. Type BCY and press GO for the bankruptcy dashboard which has news, briefs and industry breakdown.

The Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts website has bankruptcy statistics organized by chapter and year.

Additional bankruptcy statistics are available on the Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER) system. Accessing the reports requires a PACER login.
